From:Dogstar Official Message Board Author:Pook Wednesday's concert was awesome! I was disappointed that Bret's Band was not the opening act, but Bret was in rare form w/the D* boys. They were very loose and playful, very relaxed and happy. Bret played with the audience quite a bit. He was hilarious! Someone should find Bret's high school yearbooks to see if was voted class clown (I wonder if he got detention a lot?!) They mostly played songs from Happy Ending, but threw in a few from OLV and some new songs. Even if you think that you've heard some of the songs before, they put a fresh spin on their performance that makes each show unique. It's really worth whatever it takes to get to their concerts. These guys do not disappoint. The audience really responded to the music (not just the celebrity factor). I wish I could also attend the L.A. show. For those of you who are going, it is guaranteed to be memorable night. So get your asses to HOB on Sunday, have some drinks, shake what you've got, and have a blast!
From:Dogstar Official Message Board Author:Ah-Nutts OK I think all who went warmed them up for us on Sunday!! Damn place was a b*tch to find!! It took several calls and stops for directions to find the place! It just happens to be in a new section called Disneyland town or something like that. Its a Disneyland shopping mall, and the House of Blues is inside, duh!! Anyway, I arrived after Kris, Tess and Nena. They were eating dinner in the outdoor patio. It was about 6:30pm. My sister and I stood in line because it seemed to be growing. By the time they let us in, the line was true to Disneyland fashion, wrapped around and around! We were about the 15th in line. They finally let us in about 8:15pm. The stage is not that wide so, by the time we got in, we were like in the 2nd row of standing people in the front. Spuddie was next to me on Brets side cause everyone else piled over on Keanu's side (naturally). I don't know why, but my feet could not handle the standing. Somehow they did not bother me at The Catalyst in SC, and we stood in line longer than here! Ok then about 9ish or so, some guy called Jeremy something or other came on stage. He sings solo and acoustic. He sang a song I heard before but am not that familiar with. He played about 1/2 hour. He will also going to be playing Sunday night at the Sunset HOB venue. Then we had to wait another 40-45 minutes for the Doggies to come out and play. But, as always, it was worth the wait! YAY!! The Doggies have come out of their doghouse, about friggen time!! Bret was in his grunge clothes. One of those white V neck t-shirts, that YES showed off his beautiful chest! Along with the Dogstar~Texaco shirt. Bret didn't shave nor did Keanu (big surprise there! NOT!). Keanu had his grunge thing going as well, green t-shirt and combat boots. Rob, what can I say, well not much actually, hardly ever see him!! He did say "Thank you" or something like that. The songs were from HE. I am not too sure but there were a couple I did not know, it could be from previous cd's or Bret kept saying, "This song lets me say something I have wanted to say for a while, here's a new song off of our new album" But the song ended up being HALO?? Joking?? I guess, but like I said there were a couple of songs I did not recognize. You guys might on Sunday. There was no Bret solo. They came back out to jam a little bit more. Bret loves to play a rift that neither Rob nor Keanu know how to play. Rob picks up the beat without a problem, but Keanu tries, laughs, then just stands there laughing with his hands up in the air. Keanu seemed to be very jovial. Rob threw his drumsticks out in the crowd as he did in Vegas. So overall, I think Sunday's shows gonna kicks some major BUTT!! I saw Myles and Spuddie wanted me to go over and talk to him, but I told her no, leave the poor guy alone. Besides he was looking to get backstage or so it seemed. Take care all!
