Yebis Garden Hall,Tokyo (15-Oct-2002) Date:18-Nov-2002 Author:Miho(999) Photo teased from Moviestar vol.94 & Screen,Miho On 8th October Tom Cruise arrived at Kansai International Airport and shooted his new film "The Last Samurai" in Himeji and on 16th he came back to the United States with his honey, Penélope Cruz who came to Japan, though only a few staff knew it.And at 14:40 on the 15th 8 people abstructed by North Korea arrived at Tokyo International Airport. That was a histrorical day that told fortune about the relationship between North Korea and Japan. I was there at the same time. But I did not feel any exciting historical feelings. Why do I write the trivial matter non relative to Dogstar? Because I think that affairs will remind me of Dogstar shows in 2002.So if you see Tom Cruise's "The Last Samurai" next year, please remember Dogstar shows in 2002 and the riddle that only 4 medias(MovieStar and Screen and SKY perfect TV and RSK) reported about Dogstar shows regretfully, in the other hand many medias reported about Tom Cruise's shooting the film in Hyougo and Kyoto. In spite of the fact,we enjoyed our quests by ourseleves so much. The day was the last day of our quest.(YAY!!)
At 17:40 we arrived at Yebis Garden Hall.200 over people were waiting there.I found some friends and talked with them.
The staff was supposed to open the gate at 18:00,but they did not. They explained our guys had been rehersing, yet.
Finally we entered the venue.I had a ticket numbered 55 so I could stand in front of Bret's mike.
more audience than the usual gathered on the right side.Yes.The audience living in Tokyo, our bass player would stand in the right side (^^;.
And I and some friends watched out the amp of our bass player, because Ayumi could not come to the show so she told us to make sure that her babe ,thrown in Osaka shows, survived.
By the way,as usual I talked to girls standing next to me.
2 women standing behind me were so familiar with me.They
were not fans of Dogstar, but one of the most polular pop music group "Alfee".so
we had been talking about it for a while. And I asked a security in front of me how many people were there.
He answered "We sold over 2000 ticket but the number of people is about 1500".
I guess many fans bought extra ticket to get the better refference number....(OMG).
But 20 minutes past the show time, the show had not begun. At last finally our guys came onto the stage. And then the audience showed the different signs from the usual. Look out our bass player!!Almost of the audience were surprised by his dressing shirt with big red chrysanthemums. some kinds of audience's response were here 1."Who is the man wearing a flashy dressing shirt? their staff?"When Tony helped the man put the bass on him,They realized the man was our bass player. 2."What is the pattern? a red chrysanthemums? or a red cluster amarillis?"2nd kind of response is mine. Some people thought the flower was a red red chrysanthemums that means "an affection ".But I thought the pattern was a red cluster amaryllis called "Higan bana" in Japan. The floweres has not any good meanings. I am superstitious about the sign,so I was soo surprised at that. The shirt was made of silk. But I thought the shirt would not be sold anywhere in Japan.Really his dressing shirt was the biggest riddle of those shows. The photo is from SCREEN.Bret wore black T shirts and blue jean pants and Rob wore a black T shirt. They began playing "Alarming".And they allowed 3 medias to take pics of them, So they seemed to be nervous a little.I guess they were exhasted because of their non-stop shows, but they played the songs great.I felt faster a little, but they and the audience were rocking.
Only a problem was that the securities hired by promoters would not separated the venur into 2 bolcks.
So over 1500 people were stired in the venue. Many fans and I were afraid that something terrible would happen in Tivoli shows. But we could not expect that the staff in Yebis did not their proper job. Really they were busy for checking the audiences' cameras or audio tools. But they did not help us to enjoy their music. They missed another core of their jobs(^^;. Their set list is the following. They were almost same as Tivoli show.
I think our bass player was so animated. When the girls behind me shouted "Genki?",our bass player smiled so much and bowed toward them. And at 9th song "Flowers",because the audience could not memory their new songs,I wonder what I throw onto the stage. Then I could not find flower shop near the venue, but I found my corsage with my bag,and I threw it onto stage. I guess Bret was nervous a little, but Keanu realized that, and told Bret.Bret picked up the flowers and said "Flowers". I wonder how much did it work ? After the show 3 new comers said to me they knew the name of "Flowers" and they loved the song because of it. Yes! I am thinking what I will throw at their new songs now (just kidding). Our bass player looks so cute, every time he animated, the audience was stirred in the venue. But I believe some of the audience on the left learned about the heart throbbing in their music.I think some of the audience did not pay respect the whole of the band, but they were so generous. Bret said "Thanks for coming here again.Domo Arigato" and Keanu said "You guys Rocks!" with hand sign. To Dogstar,What great guys you are!Over one month has past since the show.I wonder how our guys are doing in the United States. I found an article in The province Canadian dot com.
They mentiond about us? We,the Japanese fans are cult? I laughed on loud in my office(^^). But I don't mean that in Dogstar shows,we are calm. We might be fascinated by their music, not only our bass player,I belive.
I am finishing my report with my favorite lines from "Serendipity" starring John Cusack.
