Pamela Anderson tops Canadian Business magazine's ranking of the most powerful Canucks in Hollywood

TORONTO, Aug. 30 /CNW/ - The lady is on top. As the most powerful actoron Canadian Business magazine's first-ever Celebrity Power List (currently onnewsstands), Pamela Anderson trumps some of the highest-paid performers inHollywood. The native of Ladysmith, B.C., who got her TV start in the early1990s as Lisa, the Tool Time girl, on ABC's Home Improvement, came home to thesitcom world last April as party girl-turned-bookstore employee on the new Foxcomedy Stacked. We've conservatively estimated she earns at least US$300,000per episode.

Other celebrities on the list include Jim Carrey (No. 2), Keanu Reeves(No. 3), Mike Myers (No. 4), Hayden Christensen (No. 6), Elisha Cuthbert(No. 11), Rachel McAdams (No. 12), and Sandra Oh (No. 14).

Inside Robert Downey Jr.'s Weekend Wedding

Acclaimed actor ROBERT DOWNEY JR wed his 'Gothika' producer SUSAN LEVIN on Saturday. Sources tell ET the two were expected to tie the knot in the Hamptons at the legendary RON PERELMAN-owned Creeks Mediterranean villa, but then decided to move the nuptials to another top secret location in the Hamptons, notifying their guests at the very last minute.

The elegant celebration took place at a 5.2-acre compound overlooking the bay in a ritzy part of Amagansett, NY. The couple said "I do" under a gazebo specially built for the occasion. The compound is the Windy Dunes estate, owned by wealthy Palm Beach socialite LUCY SPRUNGER. Celeb pals like BILLY JOEL, STING and KEANU REEVES, who arrived on his motorcycle, were in attendance.

After the ceremony, the celebration continued with dinner on red and gold accented tables while Sting and Billy Joel performed under a clear-topped tent so the guests could enjoy the sunset while they toasted the happy couple.

On the Friday before the wedding, five party trucks were seen parked outside the property, and sources say 150 guests were expected.

"It's my turn ... to luck out," Downey told ET of his relationship with Levin.

The couple first met during production on 'Gothika' (2003). This is the second marriage for Downey, who was previously wed to DEBORAH FALCONER and dated SARAH JESSICA PARKER. He has one child with Falconer, an 11-year-old son named INDIO.

This is a bright new chapter in the talented yet troubled star's life. Having entered rehab for the first time in 1988, Downey Jr.'s legal troubles began in 1996 when he was pulled over for speeding and police found an unloaded gun, heroin, coke and crack in his Ford Explorer. Three weeks later, an intoxicated Downey was found passed out in a neighbor's bed. Ordered into rehab, he walked away four days into treatment and found himself facing jail time.

What followed over the next five years was a pattern of repeated lapses, court dates, rehab programs and jail time that destroyed the Oscar nominated star's career and left him unemployable, as no production company would insure him. But certain, loyal friends were willing to give Downey another chance, and the actor found steady work with roles in such films as 'The Singing Detective,' 'Gothika' and the upcoming 'Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang' -- taking it one day at a time.

Director Mike Mills won the "Guardian New Directors Award" for "Thumbsucker," a U.K. premiere at EIFF. Starring Lou Pucci, Tilda Swinton, Keanu Reeves, Vince Vaughn and Vincent D'Onofrio, the film centers on 17-year-old Justin Cobb who still sucks his thumb until his orthodontist (Reeves) tries to transform his life with Ritalin, with only mixed results.

Actor Robert Downey Jr. marries producer-People

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Actor Robert Downey Jr. married his girlfriend, Susan Levin, a movie producer he met on the set of the film "Gothika," on Saturday, People magazine reported.

Downey, who has starred in more than 50 films including "Less Than Zero," "Chaplin" and "Wonder Boys," has a reputation as a talented but troubled actor.

The guest list at the wedding on Long Island, New York included actor Keanu Reeves and musicians Sting and Billy Joel, who were to perform.

Downey and Levin, 31, met in 2002 and were engaged in November 2003 when Downey presented her with an engagement ring of diamonds and a rare African sapphire, People magazine said.

Downey stars as a petty thief caught up in a Los Angeles murder investigation in the Warner Bros. comedy thriller "Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang," set to open in mid-September.

Downey, 40, struggled with drug addiction during the 1990s and had several well publicized run-ins with the law.

For six years, the award-winning actor was in and out of prison and rehabilitation programs after police found heroin, crack and an unloaded gun in his car. In 1999, he served a year in prison for cocaine possession and was arrested twice for the same offense within months of his release.

The fallout from those incidents cut short a budding comeback for the actor, who won Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild awards for his role in the TV series "Ally McBeal."

People in the News: Aniston's fan just 'walks on in'

Step aside Ashton and Demi. There's a new May/December romance in Hollywood, at least according to Star Magazine. The hookup -- Diane Keaton, 59, and Keanu Reeves, 40.

"Sources" tell the tab that it's not even the first go-round for the pair, who met while filming "Something's Gotta Give," in 2003. Reeves played a doctor who was attracted to Keaton's character. Back then, the anonymous whisperers say, they had an intense relationship. More recently, after Reeves broke up with a 28-year-old actress, he started courting Keaton again.

A friend of Keanu's said: "He's in awe of her. Her independence, her success in various fields and the fact that he can learn from her makes her sexy to him, even though she's almost 60."

Keanu's rep denied there's a romance. Diane's declined to comment.

Keanu Reeves Can't Believe Diane Keaton Is 59

LOS ANGELES - Keanu Reeves is privately telling friends he was stunned when he discovered that Diane Keaton, with whom he has been linked romantically, "is like way older" than he is.

"When I read in US Weekly the other day that she was fifty-nine," Reeves told one acquaintance, "I was like, 'whoa, dude, no way she's old enough to be my mother.' Being with somebody that old is like committing incest, only you're not related."

Reeves and Keaton met three years ago on the set of Something's Gotta Give in which they appeared with Jack Nicholson and Amanda Peet. Reeves, 40, admits he was attracted to Keaton during their romantic encounters onscreen. He concluded, however, that she was too old for him because she played a fifty-something writer in the film who dumps Reeves for Nicholson. He didn't pursue his interest in Keaton until Nicholson had told him she was in her early thirties.

"I was just messing with his head," said Nicholson. "I didn't think the doofus would believe me. I mean, the broad doesn't look bad for her age, but she was spending five hours in make up every morning, and that wasn't her keister in the nude scene."

Reeves and Keaton enjoyed a brief but intense relationship while doing publicity for Something's Gotta Give. The affair attracted little attention because most gossip columnists thought Reeves was simply still in character. The Matrix star is notorious for remaining in character long after shooting on a film has wrapped.

"I could close the gap between her age and mine if I tell people I'm really fifty-two." Although Reeves' affair with Keaton turned out to be genuine, he left her for twenty-eight-year-old Texas starlet Lynn Collins eventually.

"I just couldn't sit through Harold and Maude one more time," Reeves told People magazine. "Diane has really old tastes for a woman her age."

After Reeves' relationship with Collins had run its course—"He was too old for me," said Collins—Reeves turned to Keaton for comfort. Just as their friendship was becoming serious again, he discovered how old she is. That discovery has Reeves scratching his head more than usual these days, "trying to figure out like how old she'll be when I'm fifty, and stuff like that."

During a phone interview with a Los Angeles Times reporter, Reeves said he wouldn't make any decision until he had a chance to ask Keaton how old fifty-nine was "in people years." Before the reporter could respond, Reeves excused himself.

"Gotta run," he said, "Ashton Kutcher's on the other line, something about a double date."

In other news, the Pentagon has added Camp Casey in Crawford, Texas, to the list of military bases scheduled for closure.
