HOME ENTER CONTESTS FASHION FINDS CELEBRITY KIDS QUOTE OF THE DAY LOVE IT OR HATE IT PRESS KIT Keanu Reeves Spends Time With His God-Daughter

Yeah! New Keanu Reeves pictures… I got my Christmas wish after all. I guess Santa missed the part where I said “shirtless” but that’s ok. Beggars can’t be choosy. Here he is with his red-haired friend, Belle (at least that’s what her necklace says) god-daughter (thanks guys!!) going out to lunch, shopping and then finally talking about the industry (according to a source).

“Keanu was talking to his friend about film-making and acting,” an eyewitness tells WENN. “The girl was asking him questions about acting and how he made it in the business. After their 90-minute stay at the Mall, Keanu loaded their shopping bags into the back seat of his black Porsche 911 Carrera and drove off.

“Keanu explained some aspects of his work to her. He talked about some of his experiences making movies, and he told her what he thought she should be doing now, to make it as an actress. “The young woman had a bound notebook beside her, like she’d been taking notes. He had her full attention. She hung on his every word as they sat there talking, for about 20 minutes. They were very relaxed and friendly with each other.”

Top 10 movies to look forward to in 2008

Forget Harry Potter and Narnia, bring on Jack Black and Hellboy
Jay Stone , The Ottawa Citizen
Published: Sunday, December 30, 2007

Standing on the mountain-top of the Christmas season, it's exciting to look across the valleys and hills of the coming year to see what Mr. Movie Man has in store for us. And it looks like an exciting year for many people: a new Harry Potter, a new Narnia, a new DaVinci Code (well, the prequel Angels & Demons).

But know what? I don't care about Narnia, I'm tired of Harry Potter, I was unimpressed by The Da Vinci Code. I'm more excited about Be Kind Rewind, a film by Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) in which Jack Black plays a guy whose brain gets magnetized, wiping out all the videos in the local store. Let the public line up for the Sex in the City movie; I'll waiting for the Hellboy sequel. A new Star Trek? Give me James Bond any day. He's way cooler.

Here, then, in the order in which they will overwhelm us, the Top 10 movies I'm looking forward to in 2008, guaranteed Harry Potter-free.

1. Be Kind Rewind (Jan. 23): So after the videos are wiped out, Jack Black and Mos Def go out to re-create all the famous movies on the shelves so they can fool the store's most loyal customer, a dotty old woman played -- take this, Woody Allen! -- by Mia Farrow. Coolness factor: Jack Black and Mos Def making their low-budget versions of The Lion King and Robocop.

2.Iron Man (May 2): Robert Downey Jr. plays weapons designer Tony Stark, who uses the know-how he developed escaping from bad guys in Afghanistan to design a flying suit with cool weapons and becomes a superhero. Coolness factor: Robert Downey Jr. bringing his caustic dismissive wit to a comic book character.

3.Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (May 22): Harrison Ford is 65, but there's not need to hang up the fedora. He's back as Steven Spielberg directs the (long-delayed) fourth installment of the adventure series. Cate Blanchett plays the villain. Coolness factor: Whips! Snakes! Old guys rule!

4.Hellboy 2: The Golden Army (July 11): The first one was a great, dark, over-the-top piece of visual excess, and with Guillermo del Toro back in the director's chair, we have high hopes for the second as well. The plot: Hellboy -- that cigar-smoking, huge gun-waving cynic with special-effects muscles -- has to save the world, or something. Coolness factor: As they said in the first movie, "He's six-foot-five, bright red, has a tail and is government-funded."

5.The Dark Knight (July 18): Another sequel -- but hey, please notice that the new Rambo isn't on this list. Director Christopher Nolan is back with the new Batman, the Christian Bale version, running into his arch-enemy The Joker, now played by Heath Ledger. Coolness factor: The muscle suit, the great car, and Bale vs. Ledger too. Holy hunkiness, Batman.

6.Pineapple Express (Aug. 8): The most promising of several Judd Apatow productions in 2008, this written by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, the Superbad guys, and starring Rogen and James Franco as a pothead and his dealer on the run from the police. Coolness factor: The director is arthouse darling David Gordon Green (George Washington), so the vulgarity should be ambiguous.

7.James Bond 22 (Nov. 7): Oops. Another sequel, I guess. But who can resist Daniel Craig, the craggiest Bond ever, especially after that rising-from-the-water-in-his-bathing-suit business in the first one? It's going to be a sequel to Casino Royale; look for the backstory of Vesper Lynd. Coolness factor: The over-the-top gadgetry (remember Pierce Brosnan's invisible car?) has been replaced by Craig's dangerous sex appeal.

8.The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (Nov. 26): Fight Club guy David Fincher directs this film, based on an F. Scott Fitzgerald story, about a man who is born old and gradually turns into a baby as he ages. The man is played by Brad Pitt. Coolness factor: It would be great to have the experience of, say, a 61-year-old and the body of Brad Pitt.

9.The Day The Earth Stood Still (Dec. 12): The 1951 sci-fi classic gets a remake with Keanu Reeves playing Klaatu, the alien who comes to Earth with a warning for mankind. Coolness factor: Reeves will say, "Klaatu barada nikto!" instead of "Whoa!"

10.Frost/Nixon (TBA): A film version of the Broadway play, itself based on a famous series of TV interviews between disgraced president Richard Nixon and jet-setting TV personality David Frost. Frank Langella, who plays Nixon, won a Tony Award for the stage play. Coolness factor: Despite his valedictory during an earlier, tearful farewell, it's great that we still have Richard Nixon to kick around.

Downtown stroll for Keanu

By DARREN PARKMAN, 24 HOURS

A barely recognizable A-list star went pretty much unnoticed by most passersby in Vancouver recently. Keanu Reeves, donning a big bushy beard, was spied struggling through a workout session in a downtown gym, before later being spotted strolling near the Vancouver Art Gallery.

Reeves has arrived in town to headline a new remake movie called The Day the Earth Stood Still,

which kicked off production this week. Reeves plays the title character of Klaatu in the sci-fi epic, which centres around a strange alien visitor and his giant robot counterpart. Stunning Jennifer Connelly and veteran actress Kathy Bates round out the cast. The big- budget flick will be in production here through mid-March.
