From: IESB (The detail is here) No More Hellblazing For Keanu?
Saturday, 22 March 2008 Just a few months back, director Francis Lawrence mentioned the possibility of a sequel but said that it all depended on a script. Reeves was decidedly less optimistic and said that despite planning it at one time, a second go-round as John Constantine wasn't something he'd be interested in doing anymore. The film, of course, was based on Vertigo comics longest running series, Hellblazer. With roughly 200 issues and still counting, there's plenty of story to fuel a franchise. It sounds like it's more an issue of not wanting to retread the same water. Reeves also mentioned that there are no characters left that he's played that he has any desire to return to, killing all our hopes for middle-aged Bill and Ted. Check back soon for the full-length video interview!

Published by Shawn Adler on Friday, March 21, 2008 at 7:44 pm.With mankind’s first uncertain steps into the atomic age comes a warning from beyond the stars: cease your fighting and your wars or you will be destroyed. “The decision rests with you,” Klaatu says by way of farewell at the end of “The Day the Earth Stood Still,” a classic of Cold War science-fiction from 1951. Fifty years later and Klaatu has a new message for humanity, but one with equally dire consequences should we choose to ignore it, Keanu Reeves, who is playing the alien in Scott Derrickson’s upcoming remake, told MTV News. “The first one was borne out of the cold war and nuclear detente. Klaatu came and was saying cease and desist with your violence. If you can’t do it yourselves we’re going to do it. That was the film of that day,” Reeves explained. “The version I was just working on, instead of being man against man, it’s more about man against nature. My Klaatu says that if the Earth dies, you die. If you die, the earth survives. I’m a friend to the earth.” While humanity still engages in a staggering number of international conflicts, the environmental message is one that, not only encompasses wars, and fights, and terrorism, but one that goes beyond constrictions to become a millennial message of “what we are doing and who we are as a species,” Reeves insisted. “We’re trying to reach beyond the idea of [just] environmentalism.” Among the other changes in the film, none may be more radical than Gort, Klaatu’s robot companion (or leader in some versions), that, let’s face it, looked like the tin-man in 1951. FX should change that, right? “Hey man, don’t put that tin man down! That was iconoclastic!” Reeves protested. “[But] yes, we have another version of the [robot].” One thing that won’t change? According to Reeves, he still says the immortal words, “Klaatu barada nikto.” How does “The Day the Earth Stood Still” speak to you? What do you make of the new Earth friendly message? Sound off below.

Wednesday, March 5 2008, 15:32 GMT By Alex Fletcher, Entertainment Reporter Masatoshi Okauchi/Rex FeaturesKeanu Reeves has reportedly started dating actress Parker Posey. The Matrix actor was spotted sharing a seat with Posey at Los Angeles's Chateau Marmont Hotel last week. A source said: "They were sharing a seat and sitting very, very close. They were laughing and joking, and looked as though they were having a really good time. But it was probably the oddest couple I've ever seen!" Posey and Reeves first met in 2004, when she approached him about a role in a silent action-adventure movie. Reeves's last long-term relationship ended in 2001, when girlfriend Jennifer Syme died in a car crash. Dazed and Confused star Posey has previously been romantically linked to musician Ryan Adams and writer Thomas Beller.

Jen McDonnellPublished: Wednesday, March 05, 2008 Are Keanu Reeves and Parker Posey making more than quirky movies? The odd couple was spotted canoodling together at L.A.'s Chateau Marmont, reports OK! magazine. "They were sharing a seat and sitting very, very close," a source tells the mag. "It was probably the oddest couple I've ever seen." Odd? We actually think the homegrown Speed star and the indie film queen make a great match. It's been a while since we've seen the 43-year-old actor romantically attached (we're choosing to repress those icky rumours about him and Diane Keaton), while Posey, 39, has a known soft spot for troubled, scruffy souls. She was previously linked to rocker Ryan Adams. Plus, if we squint really hard, we can almost pretend she's Sandra Bullock, whose undeniable chemistry with Reeves makes crappy movies like The Lake House almost tolerable. established since 1st september 2001 by 999 squares. |
