DOGSTAR SHOWS
It looks like the first Dogstar shows of 2002 will be in August in Japan, Thailand, and Indonesia. No word yet on plans for touring the states or other countries.
BRET DOMROSE SOLO BAND
Bret Domrose will play with his solo band on June 20th at the Viper Room in West Hollywood, CA. The Viper Room is a fairly laid back and intimate venue. Entrance is usually $10, and there are no reservations. Check out the Dates page on www.bretdomrose.com for more information.
Bret is also currently finishing up a new CD.
RUMORS, RUMORS, RUMORS
Some time ago, there was a story circulating that Rob was the person inside the Jack costume in Jack-in-the-Box restaurant TV commercials. This is not true. However, you may have seen Rob on the TV shows Becker or The Tick within the past year.
QUATTRO FORMAGGI GIVEAWAY WINNERS
Congratulations to the winners of the Quattro Formaggi Giveaway.

RADIO STATIONS
Several fans have written in to let us know that KKMR in Texas, which was included in the list sent out in the last newsletter, has changed its format from Adult Contemporary, so they are no longer a good bet for Cornerstore or other Dogstar requests.
QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
W: Bret-- What was the very first song you ever wrote and what was it that inspired you to write it?
Bret: Well, that's easy. The first song I ever wrote was called...um...uh...wait a minute, what was it called? "Fade to Black". And it was inspired because I was basically copying everything from an album from somebody else. And I was like, "I wanna sound just like this. I wanna do...I wanna make these sounds". And I recorded it. And it was, basically I took this song that was already recorded, and I changed the words, and it became my song. After about a year I realized that you can actually write your own songs.
Keanu: How old were you?
Bret: I was sixteen.
W: These are just a bunch of favorites. Favorite meal?
Rob: Sushi and steak.
Bret: Sushi on top of steak.
Rob: Sushi and steak.
W: Together?
Rob: No, but that's...
Bret: That's like a daily thing. Let's see, today...
Rob: (To Bret) Favorite meal, though. Like, if you were in front of a firing squad.
W: Like, if you had only one meal.
Bret: Ohhh. Harris steak.
Rob: Yeah, steak.
W: Harris Ranch steak?
Bret: Yeah.
W: That town stinks.
Rob: No, no, not this town-- there's a restaurant in San Francisco called the Harris Ranch.
W: Oh. The Harris Ranch on Route 5 stinks to high heaven.
Rob: Oh-- that's ridiculous.
Bret: We don't eat that kind.
Rob: Cowshwitz.
Bret: It's all part of it. It's a necessary evil.
W: (To Keanu) What about you?
Keanu: I'll have a steak, as well.
W: Alright, EVERYBODY'S FOR BEEF!
Keanu: But, I mean I'd like to have a Bordeaux with it, some really great bread, you know-- some potatoes...
Bret: San Francisco sourdough.
Keanu: Maybe some strawberries...
Bret: Clam chowder. Throw a cup of clam chowder on the front.
Keanu: Yeah...
Bret: On the upside...
W: Boudin's?
Bret: Garlic bread...
Rob: There's not much food that we don't like, I guess.
Bret: We were just discussing last night that food is basically what it's all about.
W: Favorite drink (not alcohol)?
Keanu: Water.
Rob: Water.
Bret: I've never had anything but alcohol (Looks at drink in his hand)-- as I drink beer. Water? I can't say water. You guys said water.
W: I would say water-- you can say water.
Bret: I would say ice tea. Yeah, I'm gonna reach it.
Rob: That's really reaching out. Tea.
W:Favorite thing to do when stressed out? Like, they suggested Tai Chi or surfing.
Rob: Play in the band.
Bret: That's good. Good answer, man. (Pats Rob)
Rob: That's true.
W: Everybody want to answer that?
Bret: I would say-- talk to friends.
W: Keanu?
Keanu: Um...
Bret: Drink!
Keanu: Yeah. Drink.
W: Ok.
(Everybody laughs.)
Bret: When my friends are unavailable, I go with drink, too.
Rob: I don't believe that.
Bret: I do.
Keanu: Who cares.
(Everybody laughs)
W: Your favorite love song?
Rob: These are thinkers!
Bret: Favorite song for me is "Your Song" by Elton John.
Rob: Mine's "Killing Me Softly" by Roberta Flack.
Bret: Really?
Rob: Yeah, I love that.
Bret: That's a slammin' song.
Rob: Yeah.... Blue.
Bret: The Fugees did it. If they didn't do it...
W: Do you like the Fugees version?
Rob: Yeah, I do like that, actually.
W: Did you know that's supposed to be about Jesse Jackson?
Rob: Jesse Jackson?
W: That's what the song's written about.
Rob: She... Roberta Flack wrote that song about him?
W: She was having an affair with him, allegedly.
Rob: Wow!
Bret: Damn.
Rob: (Doing a Johnny Carson impression) I did not know that. It's a beautiful song.
W: I know. (To Keanu) Do you have a favorite?
Keanu: I'm not conscious of one...
Bret: It's hard to believe Jesse Jackson in bed. Hard to imagine.
Rob: Yeah, now I don't like that song. Can I change my answer?
(Everybody laughs)
W: Favorite Movie and TV show?
Keanu: Pass!
Bret: Favorite movie-- "So I Married An Axe Murderer". Favorite TV show.... Could be old?
Rob: Yeah...
W: Anything.
Bret: I would have to go with "CHiPs".
W: Ok.
Rob: I got "Godfather II"; favorite TV show-- "The Sopranos".
Bret: You're just a Mob freak.
W: (Laughs)
Bret: Why is that?
Keanu: A little steak, a little...
Rob: (Laughs)
Bret: "Out of retirement". La Cosa Nostra!
Rob: Little steak, little Mob...
Keanu: (Doing a Mafioso impression) "Our families...water".
Rob: I'm not wearing any gold.
W: Favorite book?
Rob: I know that one-- "A Soldier of the Great War" by Mark Helprin-- my favorite book.
Bret: Bible.
W: Ah.... (To Keanu, who looks un-forthcoming) Pass?
Keanu: Too many to mention.
Rob: It's hard to narrow it down.
W: I know. Same with movie, I don't know how you do it...
Rob: The Bible?
Bret: That'll get you straightened out.
Rob: I just read the Bible. (Perking up) I actually just read the Bible.
W: Really?
Rob: Cover to cover.
W: The whole thing?
Rob: The New Testament, I didn't read the Old Testament.
Bret: Aw, good enough.
W: And what did you think?
Rob: It's very confusing and contradictory. It's, like, confusing.
Bret: Things inside your head-- it helps you figure stuff out.
Rob: There's certain parts of it I totally dig, and there's other parts I have no idea what they're talking about.
Till next time,
