Keanu Reeves has chosen a name for his soon-to-be-born baby girl, and it's a bit of a mouthful - Ava Archer Syme-Reeves With just seven weeks to go until she has her baby, Keanu Reeves' pregnant girlfriend is busy planning for the birth. Looking radiant in comfortable tights and trainers, Jennifer Syme recently shopped for baby wear in Los Angeles with her mother, Maria. The two rarely strayed from the pink section of Babies R Us. The infant, due on January 8 is expected to be a girl. Jennifer and Keanu have already decided on a name for their daughter - she'll be named Ava Archer, and will have both Syme and Reeves as her last name. These are the first photos that been taken of 27-year-old Jennifer since her pregnancy was publicly announced in August. Until now, Keanu has gone to great lengths to shield her from the public eye, even buying her a comfortable "safe house" in suburban LA that he only visits after dark. Although they have been together for more than a year, the couple don't live together and have no plans to marry. But first-time dad Keanu is still very much involved in the pregnancy, and even went on a shopping trip of his own to buy lots of cute things for his daughter. Keanu rode his motorbike to a nearby Fred Segal department store, where he splurged on presents for the baby. He's every inch the proud expectant father. "Keanu is absolutely thrilled that He's about to have a baby. He couldn't be more excited or overjoyed at the idea that he is about to be a new dad". his ex-girlfriend Jenny Rose says. Because he was brought up with four different fathers, Keanu is determined to provide a stable environment for his child. And while they probably won't be getting married, at least Jennifer and Keanu have the same vision for their future. "All she wants is for him to be a good father to their baby. Others might call it flaky or weird, but to Keanu and Jennifer, it's fine to have a baby and not be married" Jenny says. Q: What's with Keanu Reeves? There are so many rumors as to whether he's having a baby or not having a baby - or if the mother-to-be is his ex-girlfriend or maybe just someone he was with "briefly." Why doesn't he come out and say what's going on? There are terrible things being said about him on the Internet. Keanu is my favorite actor/movie star, and I hope he's happy, but the rumor is that he is not at all pleased about this baby. Keanu is such a private man. Um, from all accounts I've heard from insiders in the Keanu camp, it was not a trick but rather an accident. And there's a big difference. She's an attractive girl, and he's a good-looking guy. Not anything like Ryan and Reese's kid. (Ugh, who knows what that will look like.) Keanu Reeves' publicist! 30th July 1999 From Mr,Showbiz Today Matrix star Keanu Reeves is onboard for another sequel project: His first child. PMK's Cheryl Maisel has confirmed for Mr. Showbiz that the actor and his girlfriend are indeed expecting. Maisel tells us that the cheekbone-blessed actor is "very happy" about the upcoming event. She could not divulge his girlfriend's name, how long the two have been together, or when the baby is due. Neither could she say if the two are living together in L.A., which Reeves calls home. When asked whether Reeves was making marriage plans, the rep answered, "not at this time."
Reeves has had a low-key romantic life, unlike fellows such as Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, or Johnny Depp, whose every romantic encounter was fodder for the tabloids.
The 34-year-old acting/bass-playing dude is expecting his first child, Reeves' rep confirms to E! Online's Ted Casablanca. It's Reeves' lady friend, of course, who's doing the actual expecting. The with-child gal-pal is one Jennifer Syme, according to Casablanca. Mum's the word on mum from the Reeves camp. The star and mom-to-be have no plans to wed.
Reeves previously was rumored to be dating The Matrix costar Carrie-Ann Moss. In general, the actor is that rare pinup who flies below the media's romance radar. Reeves is much more prone to make news for his other extracurricular activity: His band.
