Keanu Reeves and Dogstar, which includes Bret Domrose, Rob Mailhouse and the crew, arrived Bangkok International airport.

The band manager had requested the news of their arrival to be kept secret. There was no secret in the world, however! Dogstar (or Keanu?) enthusiasts, though only a few, were waiting for their breathtaking encounter with their favorite super stars around the arrival area.

An hour later to the landing time, there finally appeared the real flesh-and-blood KEANU, skinny, scruffy and a little stubble covering his cheeks, yet still glamorous and shinning. He stood out of the group looking a bit at ease, occasionally waving to his fans as he entered the arrival area. Over 50 bodyguards were there to do their duty of protecting our Hollywood-import actor, trying not to let anyone get close to the man until he finally got on the beautiful Mercedez provided as the main sponsor of the concert.

Several Dogstar fans and journalists called up at On Air office to get some information like what Keanu would do and where he would go for the day. To their disappointment, "They won't go out, simply stay at the hotel the whole day. They'll probably be out for something to eat but we have no idea when the guys would get hungry (!!).", was the only thing we could say. And what we had informed turned out true. Keanu and his fellows spent all day long at the hotel til evening when they went out for dinner along Chao-Phraya River at a Thai restaurant, then rushed back to their place.

Wed. Oct.9, 2002

Today the threesome neatly dressed up. Keanu looked a bit more stressed and uneasy than the night before. 'Why was that?.. Camera shy?'.. No way! for such top popular movie star like him. Later we got an assumption that it might be because Keanu was too conscious about his celebrity. The media might pour all their attention solely to him, KEANU as a Hollywood super star, not KEANU as a musician. All the press people agreed that Keanu would not look into the crowd most of the time during the conference, staying away from camera frame, keeping low profile at the left side corner.

That was absolutely understandable but totally helpless for a Hollywood-labeled star like him to be center of interest. For this reason, the concert organizer requested every media for co-operation to focus their questions on Dogstar music, and on Keanu as a member of the band.

Another Dogstar's day-off. Everybody got up very early in the morning to go for a trip to the beach. 'Hua-Hin' was the place where the boys were much less guarded, relaxing and enjoying their private lives. No media, no camera, no flash light・

Here came the show date! Dogstar fans are of several groups of age, actually. Quite a lot of foreigners, as well as Thai famous movie stars, came to enjoy the gig.

Dogstar appeared on stage in a very relaxing style, getting start with hard-beaten songs. The audience at the front row non-stopingly screamed and shouted to show their support to the band. Their voice was so loud that it could possibly creak the hall! Some even bursted into tears while rocking along their beloved band.. (Oh my GOD!)

A few minutes before the show was about to over, Keanu surprised the audience by openning his mouth, uttering some words for the first time. He introduced each member of the band and lastly himself. This was much enough to drool his fans all through the night. That is what the word "SUPER STAR" means, indeed..

That was all about Dogstar at the night of Octorber 11,2002 in Bangkok, where Keanu stated that he wished to be back again whenever chance is there.

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH DOGSTAR

Once again that On Air is the only one magazine in Thailand to be selected for an exclusive interview with a SUPER STAR. Although only 10 minutes were allocated, we got to know about this man, Keanu Reeves, and his fellows, a great deal.

On Air - Is this your first time here in Thailand?

Keanu - Yeah. It's such an extraordinary opportunity to travel here.

Bret - It'spretty far and I never thought that we could have chance to be here. We池e here now, though.

Rob - We致e never been here before. This'sour first time, really.

On Air - How do you guys feel about flying halfway right from LA. across the world to this country?

Keanu - Tired.. [grinning]

Bret - We took direct flight, no transit, so we felt it took time.

Rob - About 24 hours that we got stuck in the plane.

On Air - Do you think it'sthe MUSIC that brought you guys right here right now?

Keanu - Yes. Absolutely.

Bret - Freedom and enjoyment have kept us going this long, and we love to perform. We're here now because of the music we create. It'slike an international language that connects people. No matter where they are.

Rob - And it narrows the space between people. We池e happy with it.

On Air - Well, let me ask Keanu, how do you feel on stage?

Keanu - Just like a 'Dude' trying to make something best.

Bret - [laughing] I think he'sbeen doing his best, pretty good job.

On Air - What'sthe difference between acting and playing music?

Keanu - Acting is my life and music is myself. I love them both, equally, and am trying to do my best in both.

On Air - How about your new album.. any progress?

Bret - We're done more than half of the album and kept working on it little by little.

Rob - We have no idea when it should be completely done. We just keep working on it, editing, revising over n・over again til we get what we want. Then it's time for it to be released.

On Air - You had sort of a pretty hard time with the first 2 albums, have you ever felt like giving up or anything?

Keanu - Sometimes. But we know we have to keep it up 祖oz we池e doing what we love and what nobody forces us to.

Bret - It's a rhythm of life. As long as people show up to enjoy the music, that's all that matters.

Rob - I felt a bit depressed at first but when looking back, I think nothing was big deal. It's just a matter of luck.

On Air - How do you guys usually prepare yourselves before the concert?

Keanu - I do some exercise, pump-up, practice・Oh, and some meditation to keep my mind right!! [laughing]

Bret - I write to my family. (what a joke!?!)

Rob - I pray that God would bless us, that we would be safe. (Man! are you gonna go on stage or to battle field??)

On Air - Have you ever come up with any idea to surprise the audiences?

Keanu - Rob might want to go naked all around the stage.. Must be a big surprise, I guess![laughing] Bret - I would do some cookery, like dinning there on the stage with all the audiences. Seems pretty much fun. Rob - Keanu should jump into all the audiences down there and it壇 surely be a scuffle all over!! [laughing]
