Tour Report - Sendai -
Date:7/5/00 7:21:01 PM Author:TwoMasks This was a huge auditorium. There were three levels of seats, the third level was closed off, though. The crowd was positively amazing, everyone was dancing, clapping, cheering....way cool. Dogstar played a set that lasted about an hour and 15, hour and a half set...which included all the songs from Happy Ending, several songs from OLV and a few new ones that didn't make the album, including 'Your World' and 'It's Too Late' (both were also played on the U.S. tour last year). Bret came out afterwards and did an accoustic encore that consisted of '32 stories' and 'solitary man.' Then the rest of the band came out and did a couple more songs. The crowds reception was great, when I walked out into the lobby afterwards everyone looked incredibly pumped and smiling huge smiles, which was great to see. There were also long lines at the CD table, which is always great to see!!!
Date:7/9/00 Author:Rum DOGSTAR JAPAN TOUR 2000 began with Bret's call, "KONBANWA SENDAI(good evening, are SENDAI)". Bret's Japanese was perfect! "DOGSTAR", Bret, Keanu, Rob, welcome to Japan! In the train, when I heard "A DREAMETIME" in the dreaming feeling, the conductor came. He laughed, because I was very much surprised. But, I'm maximum feelings that went out to the show while hearing DOGSTAR. Tonight, it's in "A Midsummer Night's Dream". SENDAI was Bret's day!! ( Truthfully ... everyday was Bret's day for me ;) ) Bret scampered at the stage and rolling himself. Bret got to seem to bump against the microphone by the vigorous action. Truly, Bret seemed excited! Keanu was ... WOW! Great bass player!! Keanu was not as it look down, and sometimes waved a hand and showed a smile. But, it seemed that it was Keanu still tense. Rob was not better? The tone with drams wasn't good. Every piece, Drummer(aka Mike) appeared and was supporting Rob. I was very surprised because I saw Rob's sticks flown away high and high. So, Mike and Sam, welcome to Japan! Sam supported Bret and Keanu. - Set list SENDAI -
1.ALARMING En1.32 STORIES (Bret's acoustics) Bret returned alone. The clear voice did an echo into the hall, Bret was surprised. En2.SOLITARY MAN (Bret's acoustics) "Neil Diamond" It was softly and soulful, the song was expressed. En3.WASHINGTON Rob said "thank you" for Bret. It's my most favorite song in "HAPPY ENDING". I wanted to hear acoustics version. But Rob love it too, I know :). Ok, not acoustics! En4.IT'S TOO LATE It's very hard song. It heating up! As for the drams solo, it seemed that it didn't know an end. Bret and Keanu seemed to banter Rob. Keanu was laughing, and Bret peeping at Rob from under the dram. Rob noticed, and come to climax Rob's drams solo. En5.BLOWN AWAY The last song, too, was very good for the feelings. This song seems to be the original piece. The hall's sound and illumination was great! Of course DOGASTAR was most GREAT!! From Mayumi.S (Thanks your mail!!) I went to the concert at SENDAI that felt so good. I wanted to see the seat in front. I hope I'll cheer for there!!
Date:7/11/00 9:57:17 AM Author:Motoko Did anyone call my name? Oh, it's you, Miho. Hi. My name is Motoko. I am the one who asked Keanu a stupid question at the backstage in Sendai. Sendai is famous for GYU-TAN. It's delicious and a lot of people in Japan like it. But somehow it's a funny food....it's a sauted beef tongue! I luckily got the backstage-pass and had a chance to talk to Keanu. I asked him, "Did you eat GYU-TAN?" He didn't know what GYU-TAN was, so I said, "Cow's tongue." "No." he answered. I said so because I wanted him to relax and...I think I failed! Maybe he thought "Yuck!" I wanted to kill myself on my way back home. The next day my friend told me that I should have said "beef tongue", not "cow's tongue". I wanted to kill myself again. Anyway I posted this story on Miho's BBS. After that everyone who read it on the web called me "GYU-TAN!" I think I've got a middle name at last... That's my "beef tongue" episode. Bye! Established since 1st February by 999 SQUARES. |
